What a group is

Each group represents a flying syndicate in SkySyndicate. You can create or join multiple groups, with each group keeping its own members, aircraft, bookings and flights together.

You can either create a new group or join an existing one using an invite code.

Create a group

  1. Open Groups → Create.
  2. Enter a Group Name and, if applicable, the Monthly Cost paid by each member.
  3. Select Create. You'll become the first member of the group and an invite code will be generated automatically.

The Monthly Cost is separate from your SkySyndicate subscription. It is simply a figure your group can record for its own planning and bookkeeping.

Join a group

Ask an existing member for the group’s invite code. Any member can copy it from the group’s Details section.

  1. Open Groups → Join.
  2. Enter the 8-character invite code.
  3. Select Join.

Ad-hoc pilots

Ad-hoc pilots are people who may act as PIC without being members of the syndicate, such as instructors or examiners.

  1. Open the group and select Add Adhoc Pilot.
  2. Enter the pilot's first name, last name and capacity, such as Instructor, Examiner or Other.
  3. Save the pilot.

Ad-hoc pilots can be activated or deactivated as required. Ad-hoc pilots cannot be removed as they may be linked to past flights.

Leave or delete a group

If you are the only member of a group, you can delete it using Delete Group. If other members remain, use Leave Group instead.

You cannot leave a group while you are responsible for billing for one of its aircraft. Transfer billing to another member first. See Aircraft for details.

When deleting a group all associated aircraft, bookings and ad-hoc pilots will be permanently deleted.
